The statistics on wrongful convictions in the U.S. criminal justice system reveal a troubling pattern of innocent individuals being prosecuted, found guilty, and later exonerated. The criminal justice system, in many cases, is more interested in a conviction than in the truth. This dreadful system may be of interest only to the falsely accused, their families, and their friends. Also, many innocent parties are forced to plead guilty to avoid a longer sentence. The system is flawed, and too little is done about it.
